The recently approved Kalamazoo Master Plan 2025 has made changes that will have a considerable affect on our Arcadia Neighborhood. Specifically, the north side of West Michigan avenue has been rezoned for multi-unit housing.
A significant number of properties on West Michigan have already been purchased by a developer with plans to demolish the existing homes and build multi-unit housing. What is built will affect transportation and property value in our neighborhood.
The Board is attempting to work closely with the city’s zoning and planning commission to have a say in what can be build. It’s very important for all Arcadia families to actively participate in this process whenever we can. There will be meetings to attend, both with the city and the ANA board. It’s in all our best interests to be active on this issue.
