Good news regarding repairs to the brick retaining walls along West Michigan Avenue boardering Arcadia. Yvonne Wright, Kalamazoo’s Housing Inspector, announced at a recent ANA Board meeting, “The City Engineer has decided to hire a contractor to make repairs to the retaining walls along West Michigan in spring 2018.
The City owns the walls, but were going to hold the property owners responsible for maintenance and repairs (much like curb lawns) however, to ensure that the walls are properly repaired and remain uniform in appearance, the City has decided to take care of them. All property owner previously cited have been notified.”
This is not only great news for the property owners who will no longer have a costly repair, but for all Arcadia homeowners who won’t have to see those eyesores on a daily basis!
